Helmed by award winning designer Patrick Grant, E. Tautz is the ready to wear offshoot of Savile Row tailors Norton & Sons. Originally founded by Edward Tautz in 1867, Tautz was a former head cutter at Hammond & Co and the company counted Edward VII amongst his customers during its original heyday.

Patrick studied at Leeds and Oxford. He has been running Norton & Sons since 2005.

“At the heart of the E. Tautz collection is Savile Row cutting; elegant shoulders, suppressed waist, well proportioned, well balanced and unfussy in keeping with the sporting and military traditions. E. Tautz like simple cutting paired with bold accents of colour and pattern – cloths with scale and texture; big checks, fine flannels, and stripes.”

EcoLuxe_Show_LFW_AW2011

EcoLuxe is a non-profit platform that promotes fashion-related ecoluxury brands by teaming up with charities, organizations, corporations and the media.

We were incredibly excited to be invited to the EcoLuxe show this year. The quality of the exhibitors and the projects presented were incredibly high. EcoLuxe has been going from strength to strength and each season it appears to be attracting key industry leading figures. Present at this year’s show were also the Culture Minister Ed Vaizey and Hilary Alexander from the Telegraph.

Below are some of our favourites from this year’s show.

Elena Garcia is the Director of Communications and Brand Liaison at EcoLuxe. Elena is a Spanish born designer based in London. She runs her own eponymous label Elena Garcia EcoCouture www.elenagarciastudio.com and specialises in organic silk creations using traditional embellishment techniques. Her collections have a romantic ethereal feel with easy to wear pieces suitable to women of all ages.

Stamo is the Business and Finance Director at EcoLuxe and she has had a passion for fashion for more than twenty years. Born in Greece, Stamo studied Fashion in Athens and moved to London in 2009 for further studies. A keen collector and researcher of textiles, Stamo’s interest in weaving, embroidery, shoes, hats and handbags has inspired the exquisitely tailored collections featured in the UK under the luxury label By Stamo.  www.stamo.co.uk

HEMYCA is a dynamic, new British design brand, providing unique high – quality tailoring for the contemporary woman. Designed by two friends; Helen and Myra, both graduates of the London College of Fashion. After working for leading designers including Ben de Lisi and Roland Mouret, the brand has gone from strength to strength gaining recognition from the world’s media, “HEMYCA is the UK’s most sought after new designer” Daily Telegraph.

Eloise Grey seeks a more considered quality that embodies respect for the makers, the land, the art of weaving, tailoring and the process of trying and buying. Her collection is a product whose time is in tune with the cycle of growth in the land and is treasured rather than lusted after guiltily. She launched her  Womenswear Collection in 2007 and her Menswear Collection in 2009.

Debbie Little dresses are made from 1950s parachute silk.

Artist_Wonderment_Prophetik_LFW_AW2011

Every year during LondonFashionWeek, ZANACCO follows designers who are committed to the development of a more sustainable and ethical fashion industry. This year we take a closer look into the world of Prophetik and the wearable philosophy.

Launched in 2002, Prophetik is an all-sustainable fashion lifestyle brand designed by, Jeff Garner. Jeff’s mission is to bring awareness to the principles of how clothing is produced, dyed, distributed, the affect these processes have on the planet, and to challenge the design practice known as “planned obsolescence”.

Jeff received personal mentorships from Calvin Klein and J Lindeberg, and co-designed for Convoy, a sustainable label out of Orange County, California before launching Prophetik.

This season silk and organic velour sit alongside 100-year-old southern quilts – handed down from Jeff Garner’s great grandmother Lola. One of the jackets in the collection is even crafted from the quilted bedspread from Jeff’s bed as a child. A new fabric introduced this season is cactus silk, made from the agave plant.

Below are some of our favourites from this year’s show.

The Grand Finale!

A media favourite and a prominent voice in the ethical fashion arena, Jeff dresses Sheryl Crow, Taylor Swift, Kings of Leon, and the Jonas Brothers, and recently dressed film producer and prominent VOGUE.COM UK contributor, Livia Firth for the 2011 Golden Globes. Prophetik show was organised by ForwardPR.
